A Personal Success Story

Background:

When I think about the past decade, I wouldn't change anything.  I knew from the beginning I had made the right decision to become a medical transcriptionist.  I enjoyed everything from attending the classes to the daily challenges of setting up my home-based office to the convenience of being able to throw in a load of laundry.  Most importantly, I didn't miss any of my five children's milestones such as their first words and first steps.  I was there when they needed me.  I believe I had the best of both worlds - one set of responsibilities complementing the other.

I am proud to be a professional in the health care field and am very happy to get up each morning to start a new day without battling traffic, weather, or incurring the expenses of going to work - gas, work clothes and other miscellaneous costs.  I enjoy the benefits that being an entrepreneur brings.  I am my own boss, I choose the kind of work I want to do, and I have the flexibility to make my own schedule.

I also enjoy the diversity of the work.  I've transcribed for national services and major marketing firms.  I've transcribed research interviews for college professors and tapes from hospital interviews.

Mission:

I've written this book so that you can do it too.
